The rock climbing areas range from bouldering rocks that are under 12 feet tall to cliffs that are over 100 feet high. There are different difficulty ratings for each location. Some areas require a greater amount of technical skill and more advanced equipment. Some of these locations are under legal debate or currently off-limits regarding access; please check with the appropriate authorities before climbing. Climbing is always at your own risk, be extremely cautious. Many of the rock climbing locations can be reached by a network of hiking trails. Rock climbers will often backpack their rock climbing gear into the wilderness with them. Some of the more rugged climbers will set up camps or make a base-camp at a campground. Even though rock climbing is a sport unto it's self, it derived from mountain climbers that were training for major mountaineering excursion.
