After recently seeing a coyote near Messerschmidt Pond that looked to be more of a red wolf in size (looked to be a good 60 pounds), I decided to post some articles about the wiley K9. In fact, there have been confirmed reports of a grey wolf in Mass, so I guess anything is possible. I had lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota a few years back and had coyotes coming out my ears. This was by far the largest coyote that I have ever seen and I know it was a coyote. I'm willing to bet that restricted hunting and trapping has increased the already pleantiful menu for the coyote. If you add table scraps and the occasional well fed pet to the diet and you can see how maybe a coyote can hit a growth spert.
Read below about the Coyote.
