Appalachian Trail Hiking Map, Kent

A side-trip to Kent is a common part of the AT experience. This little town is a good place to repair or replace gear and to fill-up on food at the local market. There are also many choices of Inns and B&B's for a night of luxury to refresh after trudging along the trail.

The scenic quality of this southern-most section matches or excedes that of Bear Mountain. There are many scenic views overlooking the mountainous landscape from along the ridgeline. There is a short scenic side trail that meanders along the banks of a powerful section of whitewater and the confluence of Tenmile River and the Housatonic will be a delight for those inspired by mountain waters.
